Our Pilates studio is an airy space, with bright
natural lighting providing a secluded and relaxed
atmosphere. We run Pilates sessions with limited
numbers to maximise client attention and feedback,
making your lessons personal and comfortable.
The Benefits
Look good feel good and perform
Pilates can transform the way your body looks, feels
and performs.
It builds strength, without bulk from the inside
out. It improves flexibility by lengthening you as
well as stretching, creating a balance in your body.
This makes it also an ideal form of cross-training
exercise for the athletic population.
Pilates and
re:abilitation
Pilates is appropriate for gradual return to
exercise following an injury or period of
inactivity, including all three trimesters of
pregnancy and beyond!
The moving surfaces and varying resistances of the
studio equipment means that exercises can be taken
to a more advanced level for increased challenge and
enjoyment or made easier by providing assistance
when necessary.
Pilates is suitable for rehabilitating a wide range
of conditions:
-
those injuries you can't get rid
of, or that keep recurring
-
back and neck pain
-
sporting injuries
-
scoliosis
-
osteoporosis
-
arthritis
-
fibromyalgia
-
muscle and ligament sprains and
strains
-
pre- and post-operative
rehabilitation
-
work related injuries
-
pre and post pregnancy
Our physiotherapists combine their clinical
knowledge and experience with their Pilates training
to create a rehabilitation programme to suit the
requirements of each individual.
Getting started
Your first appointment is a private session with a
Pilates teacher. This includes an assessment and an
introduction to the fundamentals of Pilates.
After the first class you may choose to continue
having private lessons or join one of our group
sessions. This is something you should discuss with
your teacher after your initial appointment. If you
would like to join a studio equipment group we do
encourage you to have several individual sessions,
as it makes for an easier transition into the
studio.
Individual Sessions
These are 30 or 60 minute private lessons with a
Pilates teacher. They will tailor a programme to
suit your requirements using a combination of mat
and studio equipment exercises.
Group Sessions
Group sessions include mat classes or studio
equipment groups.
Pilates mat classes
are
group exercise, with all participants following the
same exercise sequence. There are a maximum of 9
people in each class.
These classes are not suitable
for individuals with serious injuries or conditions.
Studio sessions are advised in these cases.
The studio equipment group
is where everyone works at their own pace, but in a
group. It is part way between a mat class and a
private session.
You will be doing either 30 or 60 minutes exercise
programmes, recommended to address your particular
needs and goals and includes a combination of mat
and studio equipment exercises.
All the sessions are fully supervised, with a
maximum of 5 people are in each class. The teacher
supervising and helping the group will give you new
challenges as you reach different areas and levels
of competence so introducing new exercises to keep
you motivated, challenged, focused and relaxed!
These classes are also suitable for individuals with
injuries or serious conditions.
You can book in to the studio times that suit you.
