Ante & Post Natal Pilates
We offer ante and post natal Pilates classes plus
individual studio sessions, taken by our Pilates trained
Physiotherapist Gillian Pink. The classes may include
advice on joint care and posture advice during and after
pregnancy, but if you have a particular problem then
Gillian is happy to see people privately by appointment.
Importantly, Pilates is gentle and careful on your
joints. The potential benefits of Pilates are that you
become more aware of your body as it changes during and
after pregnancy. This helps in maintaining good posture
and reducing aches and pains. Your strength will
improve, especially the pelvic floor and stomach
muscles, but not forgetting stretching and strengthening
the whole body in preparation for carrying, labour and
the rigors of caring for your baby (lifting and
breastfeeding for example).
The environment is comfortable and relaxed and gives you
the opportunity to interact with the other mothers.
Babies in their buggies or car seats are welcome in the
studio with their mothers.
